Premier League Gossip: Everton star to miss Stoke City clash and then some

No-one should cheer an injury, but Stoke City can be forgiven for not exactly bursting into tears at the widely reported news that Gylfi Sigurdsson looks like being out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Burnley winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson, valued at £20m in The Sun, is apparently wanted this summer by Newcastle, Leicester and (if they stay up) Southampton.

The Mirror is among those reporting that Alan Pardew has won a stay of execution until the end of the season, but that he will then be toast as West Brom are planning on a new manager back in the Championshp.

Relegation would not be all bad news for West Ham, it seem, because The Sun says its measly rent price of £2.5m-a-year for using the old Olympic Stadium would fall by half if they are playing in the Championship.

Gylfi Sigurdsson… prayers unanswered on the injury front

Still with West Ham pitch invasion on Saturday and The Mail reports that the guy with the corner flag is a 61 year-old businessman who claims it was a peaceful protest.

Well that’s all right, then.

Finally, another nail is being knocked in Arsene Wenger’s coffin, it seems, as The Express is reporting Paul Merson as saying that the Gunners should replace him with Brendan Rodgers this summer.

Great news for those missing Rodgers and his smooth style in the Premier League.
