Camila Cabello, Axwell & Ingrosso Among Top-Trending Lyrics of Love & Heartbreak

LyricFind shares the top-trending lyric searches about love or heartbreak around the world.

There are two sides to every Valentine’s Day, and that’s exactly what LyricFind set out to analyze in its latest lyric-based research.

After sharing the top-trending love songs by country in 2017 (spoiler: James Arthur‘s “Say You Won’t Let Go” was a big winner), LyricFind took a slightly different route for 2018, checking out not only the highest-trending songs about love across the world — but also those about heartbreak. The company analyzed lyric searches in the six weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14), taking into account velocity of searches rather than overall volume.

In the eight countries analyzed — the United States, Australia, Brazil, Germany, France, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom — the variety of songs is wide-ranging, with just two songs showing up more than once: Camila Cabello‘s “Never Be the Same,” which leads the heartbreak category for the U.S. and France, and Axwell & Ingrosso‘s “More Than You Know,” showing up as the top-trending love song for the U.K. and Germany.

Otherwise, it’s a mix of songs new and old, with “For You,” Liam Payne and Rita Ora‘s new collaboration from the newly released Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, topping the U.S. list in the love category, while Dua Lipa‘s “New Rules” follow-up “IDGAF” leads the heartbreak column for Germany.

The oldest song? Bullet for My Valentine‘s “Pleasure and Pain,” which trended tops among songs of heartbreak in Brazil. It was released in 2010 and, according to LyricFind, was the only song listed to trend higher than its love-related counterpart in the country, Kell Smith’s “Era Uma Vez.”
