Saturday, January 13
3:45pm: Leroy Sane has revealed Jurgen Klopp tried to sign him for Liverpool.
The German winger has featured 27 times for Manchester City this season.
But if Klopp had his way, Sane would be in his side at Anfield.
“Yes, I was also talking with them [Liverpool],” Sane told the Guardian.
“Jurgen was calling me too, talking to me.
“That was before I joined City.
“He did a good job at [Borussia] Dortmund – I met him when he was there.”
3:15pm: Christian Pulisic could be on his way to Manchester United in the next 18 months.
That is according to pundit Steve Nicol.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has been impressing in the Bundesliga this season.
And ESPN pundit Nicol believes the USA starlet will be heading to Old Trafford in the future.
“I think Pulisic is a sensible kid, he’s only just now a regular at Dortmund,” he said.
“I think he needs to stay there for another 12 months anyway.
“Now, does he go to Man United eventually? I think definitely there is a possibility of this being a hit.”
2:45pm: Chelsea star Eden Hazard will join Real Madrid in the summer, Paul Merson believes.
He told Sky Sports: “Hazard’s probably one of the best in the business and they get Ross Barkley to take his place, works under him for six months, watches him, watches the way Chelsea play.
“Then they don’t have to go out and buy someone for £70m.
“They’ve just got [Barkley] for nothing, I think it’s great business, I really do. I think Hazard plays for Real Madrid next season.”
2:00pm: Eddie Howe would be ‘content’ if Bournemouth do not conduct any business in the January transfer window.
“I’ve made it very clear, no player is for sale in this window,” said Howe. “Our biggest challenge is keeping our squad together.
“That’s my target again first and foremost this January. If we can find a special player this January we’d do that. I wouldn’t necessarily be happy with no changes, but I’d be content.
“But yes, I would favour a quiet transfer window for us. We’re not massive players in the window as we sit here now. In some senses the only way we’ll get involved is if we lose players.”
1:00pm: RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhutt has rebuffed claims that Liverpool will sign Naby Keita this month.
Hasenhuttl said: “The current situation is that nothing changed. We do not have a reason to sell Keita any time before the end of the season. That’s it.”
12:00pm: Arda Turan has left Barcelona to join Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 30-year-old midfielder has joined the Turkish Super Lig leaders on a two-and-a-half-year loan deal.
Turan was linked with Premier League duo Everton and Arsenal.
11:00am: Leicester have signed versatile forward Fousseni Diabate on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The 22-year-old Malian has joined the Foxes from French second-tier side Gazelec Ajaccio for an undisclosed fee.
Diabate, who can play as a central striker or on the wing, moved to the Corsican club after two seasons with Guingamp.
The Premier League club announced the signing of the player on Saturday morning.
10:15am: Ilkay Gundogan has revealed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp tried to sign him before he decided to join Manchester City.
He told The Daily Mail: “I spoke with Jurgen about different things. He always liked me as a player and I would be a liar if I said he didn’t try.
“But when I had the opportunity to join City and work with Pep, it was quite clear that I wanted to come here.”
9:45am: Mohamed Salah insists he is more than happy at Liverpool amid the ongoing speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants are understood to be big fans of Liverpool’s Egyptian star and are planning a mega-money spending spree in the summer.
Asked about Real, Salah told Soccer Laduma: “Well, I have heard so many rumours it does not bother me anymore.
“But I have been treated very well at Liverpool and right now, I belong to Liverpool and I am happy at Anfield. Let us leave it at that.”
9:00am: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte insists he was not interested in Leicester striker Jamie Vardy last summer.
“No, honestly we didn’t speak about him,” he said. “But I repeat we are talking about a really good player.
“For sure Vardy is a really good player and I don’t like to speak about players of other teams, but in this case we are not talking about transfer market.
“He played for the national team and is scoring with regularity in this league and is a good player, but this different. I am talking about him because you ask me and not the transfer market.”
8:00am: Arsenal have bid £60m for Thomas Lemar – a whopping £32m LESS than they put on the table in the summer.
The Gunners are prepared to sell Alexis Sanchez if their valuation of around £30m is met and want Lemar to replace him.
Starsport understands the Gunners have launched a fresh bid for the French winger and are eager to secure his signature this month.
7.00am: Charlie Nicholas insists Theo Walcott should have left Arsenal several years ago.
He said: “Come on, Theo. It’s time. I’ve got nothing bad to say about Theo – people can pick holes in his record – I’m an Arsenal man and they got a lot from Theo.
“They never got the true potential that we were all waiting on, but I think three or four years ago we realised that was never going to materialise.
“I think for that last two or three seasons, he should have moved by then and realised as soon as people like Sanchez, Ozil and all the other strikers started coming into the football club his time was coming to an end.”
6.00am: Liverpool new boy Virgil van Dijk has promised to try and bring silverware back to Anfield.
He said: “I think I can help the team maybe achieve more than the club is already doing.
“It doesn’t mean I’m going to play every week, just because of the price tag, I still need to prove myself. There are amazing defenders here, don’t get me wrong.
“I think over the past year or so, 90 per cent of fans I meet are Liverpool fans.
“It’s just something special. You want to give it back to them, work hard and achieve, and then get trophies with this beautiful club. It’s just a massive club, and I feel it.”
4.00am: Arsenal have asked Manchester United for Anthony Martial in exchange for Alexis Sanchez.
Starsport understand the Gunners won’t sell Sanchez until a replacement is found.
And with that in mind the north London club asked for French star Martial in exchange.
United are unlikely to be open to losing Martial meaning they could have stump up around £35m in cash instead to try and persuade Arsenal into a sale.
2.00am: Man United signing Alexis Sanchez will be reminiscent of their Eric Cantona transfer 25 years ago according to Robbie Savage.
He told the Mirror: “Alexis Sanchez would be Manchester United’s greatest transfer hijack since they pinched Eric Cantona from champions Leeds.
“And if he ends up across town with the neighbours, he will be a frightening addition to Manchester City’s nuclear front line.
“Either way, it looks like another ‘Welcome to Manchester’ billboard will soon be appearing in the powerhouse of English football.
“There is no point in Arsenal keeping a player who can leave in the summer for nothing if they can get around £30m for him now.”
0.30am: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has rubbished suggestions that he tried to sign Jamie Vardy.
He said: “No, honestly we didn’t speak about him.
“But I repeat we are talking about a really good player.
“For sure Vardy is a really good player and I don’t like to speak about players of other teams, but in this case we are not talking about transfer market.
“I appreciate a lot this player because he is a really good player, Vardy.
“He played for the national team and is scoring with regularity in this league and is a good player, but this different.
“I am talking about him because you ask me and not the transfer market.”
Friday, January 12
10.45pm: Manchester United getting Alexis Sanchez would be their best transfer ‘hijack’ since getting Eric Cantona from rivals Leeds.
That’s according to ex-Premier League star Robbie Savage.
He wrote in The Mirror: “Alexis Sanchez would be Manchester United’s greatest transfer hijack since they pinched Eric Cantona from champions Leeds 25 years ago.
“And if he ends up across town with the neighbours, he will be a frightening addition to Manchester City’s nuclear front line.”
10.20pm: Liverpool would demand at least £80m if Real Madrid came calling for Mohamed Salah in the summer.
Salah has been one of the players of the Premier League season so far following his £37m arrival from Roma.
And his form is said to have attracted interest from Real.
Transfermarketweb report that Salah is starting to become a key figure in Real’s plans but they know he won’t be cheap.
It is said Liverpool will demand at least double what they paid for him and likely ask for much more.
9.30pm: Tottenham have reportedly dropped their interest in Bordeaux winger Malcom – handing a major transfer advantage to rivals Arsenal.
North London giants Tottenham and Arsenal have been keen on 20-year-old Brazilian ace Malcom in recent weeks.
Bordeaux are demanding £45m for youngster in January knowing the Premier League big guns have cash to splash.

That decision could clear the way for Arsenal to snap up the in-demand Malcom.
8.30pm: Manchester United are putting the wheels in motion for a stunning raid on PSG for Neymar, it’s been claimed.
French outlet Le Ten Sport say a whopping €500m (£444m) raid could be on the cards, although Real Madrid are sniffing around a potential deal too.
7.30pm: Julian Draxler sent tongues wagging about a move to Arsenal in the summer after being spotted with Gunners players at the NBA in London on Thursday.
And bookies BerStars think a move could be on.
A spokesman said: “The 24-year-old has been a long-term fixture on Arsene Wenger’s radar and has been touted as an ideal replacement for the potentially Manchester-bound Alexis Sanchez. The North London club are now as low as 2/1 with BetStars to add the German winger to their ranks.
“Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Liverpool are valued at 5/1 to hijack the deal, while Manchester United trail behind at 10/1 to become the German international’s next club.”
7pm: Liverpool are prepared to go up against Tottenham in the race for Norwich youngster James Maddison.
Maddison joined Norwich from cash-strapped Coventry in 2016 for a reported £2m.
And he could now be heading to the big time, report The Mirror.
6.15pm: Liverpool are favourites to sign Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman with the bookies.
Jurgen Klopp has money to spend after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for a whopping £142m.
And he could use some of that cash to sign the 27-year-old Dutchman.

5.30pm: Jose Mourinho has refused to speak about interest in Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
He said: “In relation to Alexis Sanchez, I don’t say a word.

“Apart from that, he is an Arsenal player and I feel I shouldn’t say much more than this.”
4.45pm: Antonio Conte has issued Chelsea fans with a transfer update.
The Blues boss has already brought in Ross Barkley but Andy Carroll, Alex Sandro and Arturo Vidal have all been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
“I don’t know,” he responded, when asked if more players were expected through the door.
“The club knows very well my opinion. This is the best way, to speak with the club, to give my opinion if we need other players, to improve the numbers of the squad.
“Then the final decision is for the club.”
4pm: Manchester City will stand aside and let Manchester United sign Alexis Sanchez.
City won’t pay over the odds for Sanchez, and will let Jose Mourinho’s outfit sign the Chilean if they match Arsenal’s £35m asking price.
3:00pm: Pep Guardiola has refused to discuss the ongoing speculation linking Manchester City with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.
Guardiola said: “I understand completely this question, I understand you are doing your job, but you know my answer. I am not going [to speak about it].
“I’m focused on Liverpool, believe me. As a manager you have a lot of words to deal with and you have to choose which ones you want to be focused on. I want to be focused on what we have to do on the field. The game and [how to] play, that is my only concern.”
2:30pm: West Brom boss Alan Pardew says Jonny Evans will feature against Brighton tomorrow despite the ongoing speculation linking him with Arsenal and Manchester City.
“Nothing has changed on Jonny,” Pardew said. “He is fit this weekend, so you can expect to see him on the teamsheet tomorrow.”
2:00pm: Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino knows it’ll be ‘difficult’ to sign players he wants this month.
He said: “If you want to sign players that you are going to use and help you, it’s difficult to find this opportunity.
“That is the situation of this transfer window, that is why it is always difficult.
“Personally I never look next to me at what the other teams are doing. It’s about how I believe and try to make things happen.”
1:30pm: Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool won’t go ‘crazy’ in the transfer window despite pocketing £142m from Philippe Coutinho’s exit.
He said: “We want ‘right’ before ‘expensive’. If we do it, it has to be the right decision. We don’t have to replace him as such, we will still have 11 players.
“We had fantastic games with him and not so good games with him, and the same when he didn’t play.
“Replacement? First of all we have to replace him internally. We have our eyes open in this window but we won’t do crazy things.”
1:00pm: Manchester United are close to agreeing terms with Alexis Sanchez.
The Arsenal star is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave on a free transfer – or for a cut-price fee this month.

And according to Sky Sports Italia, United are closing in on Sanchez with personal terms set to be agreed.

10:30am: Eddie Howe has insisted that Bournemouth will not let any of their players leave this month.

“By and large we’ve done it. Not 100 percent. And that’s my target again in January.”
10:00am: Everton are in talks with Arsenal to sign forward Theo Walcott.
The 28-year-old’s Arsenal contract does not run out until 2019 but he has made just 15 appearances this season and has yet to make a Premier League start.
“I think you are all aware of our interest in Theo,” said Everton boss Sam Allardyce. “If that is possible to get over the line I’d be delighted.
“Two or three reasons really – goalscoring threat, pace, experience and he’s good on assists from wide areas in terms of his crossing ability.
“If that is at all possible it would be very nice. It is not imminent at the moment but some negotiations are going on.”
9:30am: Manchester United are looking to bolster their strike force in the January transfer window.
And they are have made inquiries about signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester and Javier Hernandez from West Ham, according to the Telegraph.

And the former Santos winger has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are both sold.
Neymar has also stated he wants a world-class coach and does not believe Zinedine Zidane is up to the job.

The England international has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons and is desperate for game time to boost his World Cup hopes.

That paves the way for an English club to swoop for Arthur and the Daily Mail report that both Chelsea and United are keeping tabs on the youngster.
The playmaker has a buyout clause of £45m but Gremio are reportedly willing to sell to a Premier League side for between £30m and £35m.

He told BetVictor: “I was asked this week if I thought Riyad Mahrez, who has been linked with a move to Anfield, would be the ideal replacement for Coutinho but I couldn’t agree.
“As good a player as Mahrez is, he might not possess the pace or work ethic that Jurgen Klopp might be looking for and I wonder where he would fit into the starting XI – certainly not instead of the brilliant Mo Salah on the right side of the front three.”
Thursday, January 11
11.00pm: Alexis Sanchez will not want to play under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, according to Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood.
He said: “They can offer what they want but I think ultimately it’s going to come down to where Alexis Sanchez wants to play.
“Or Arsenal decide not to sell him and it’s worth more than £20m to them to finish in a Champions League spot.
“I think they’re better equipped with him than they are without him.
“After that, it’s about where he wants to play.
“I would suggest that an attacking player like him would rather play for Pep Guardiola than Jose Mourinho.
“Obviously the key is the individual. Arsene knows Alexis Sanchez better than all of us, he would speak to him and make a judgement call on whether he’s going to give his best for the club.”
9.45pm: Karim Benzema has an offer on the table from Arsenal.
The Frenchmman has struggled at the Bernabeu this season and looks set to be sold.
