Premier League Gossip: Liverpool star being priced out of range

Daniel Sturridge, who was interesting Mark Hughes before he got the bump, is for sale after asking to leave Liverpool.

But The Mail reckons the asking price is a cool £30m for the former England striker… plus wages of around £150,000-a-week.

Manchester United are seemingly intent on rocking a few boats in the January window.

Not only are they trying to scupper Manchester City’s pursuit of Alexis Sanchez, but the Star claims they also fancy a slice of old boy Javier Hernandez from West Ham and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.

Several outlets believe Sanchez will (if he hasn’t already) snub Jose Mourinho’s attempt to snatch him from beneath Pep Guardiola’s nose.

The Mirror believes that Norwich’s James Maddison is on course for a move to Liverpool or Tottenham, but in the summer window.

Anyone wanting to prise defender Alfie Mawson away from Swansea’s battle to beat the drop will, says boss Carlos Carvalhal, have to fork out the little matter of £50m.

Finally, the London press is reporting that Crystal Palace have offers on the table for strikers Diafra Sakho at West Ham (£12m), and Everton’s Oumar Niasse (£13m).
