European clubs battle for Nigerian Midfielder, JohnPaul McTheophilus

A number of European clubs have indicated interest in signing Nigeria-born Midfielder, JohnPaul McTheophilus.

The Imo state born JP, Mc Theophilus played for Persikad Depok in Indonesia Liga Premier for two and half seasons before a sensational move to Pesanku in Bali Regional Division side Pesanku Bali.

Report claims that a number of clubs including Norwegian teams have indicated interested in acquiring the services of the 25 year-old midfielder.

After a long sojourn overseas, where he made Nigeria proud at various points, JP returned to the country recently to spend time with his family after rejecting offers from a host of Indonesian teams in his quest to project his career to a big league.

The Midfielder told DAILY POST in Abuja that he’s listening to offers from different teams.

“Yes, I have offers, but it’s important to make the right choices that will not only improve my life but also my development as a player. So I’m in no rush”, JP said yesterday.

He, however, added that, what would inform his choice was not the monetary offer per see, but a lot of variables would be factorised.

One among the indices to be considered, according to JP, was a conducive and enabling environment to fully showcase his God given talents, saying, Nigeria players are making the country proud, and he “can’t do otherwise”.
