NIGHTMARE: England fans will travel vast distances in Russia

The nation breathed a sigh of relief after being drawn in a favourable group at the Russia tournament with Belgium, Tunisia and Panama.

But they face a hellish few days after touching down in Moscow.

Their first game is 600 miles – a 12 hour drive – from the capital in Volgograd, where the Three Lions will face Tunisia at the Volgograd Arena on June 18.

Then just six days later, they will have to face another 613 mile journey – a 12-and-a-half hour drive to Nizhny Novgorod to play Panama.

And in the most laborious journey of all, they will have to travel an astonishing 1,046 miles – a 21-hour drive – to Kaliningrad to play Belgium four days later.

If England crash out in the group stage, that means they then face 782-mile – a 16-hour drive – journey back to Moscow.

That means if England fans are either driving or hopping on a coach, they will have travelled an astonishing 61 hours on the road.

However, England fans will be sure to take comfort in the astonishingly cheap booze in the country.

A half litre of vodka will cost fans around 190 rubles, which is around £2.40.
